Scattered in S Br (widely planted near the sea), evergreen with mixed brown and silver scales on lower side of lvs

A number of other spp. are used as hedging, e.g. E. macrophylla (Broad-lvd Oleaster) which is also evergreen with all silver scales, and E. commutata (Silverberry) which has thin, deciduous lvs and yellow flowers, and E. commutata (Spreading Oleaster) also deciduous with red-orange fruits
